Binomial Distribution

Description

The Binomial Distribution models the probability of an event occurring $k$ times in $n$ attempts with $P(k)=p$. The probability model is

(1)
\begin{align} P(k) = \binom{n}{k} p^k (1-p)^{n-k} \end{align}

The following sage cell gives the probability when $n=10$, $k=7$, and $p=.5$.

Code

n = 10
k = 7
p = .5
P = binomial(n,k)* p^k * (1-p)^(n-k)
